How it works

What happens when you apply.

From the first form to money in the bank — what we do, what the funder does, and what you need to have ready.

The three steps, in more detail

  1. Tell us about the business

The application asks about the business, its owners, monthly revenue, time in business, and what the money is for. It saves as you go, so you can stop and pick it up later. You will also be asked for recent business bank statements.

  2. We shop the options

We check that the file is complete and may call you with a question or two. Then we send it to funding partners who fit your profile — not to everyone. When offers come back, we lay them out side by side: amount, total cost, and the repayment schedule.

  3. You decide

If an offer works, you sign the funder's agreement and the funder sends the money. Read the contract before you sign; we'll walk through it with you. If nothing fits, you walk away. No hard feelings.

Questions owners ask

Will applying hurt my credit?

It depends on the funder. Some check credit with a soft pull, which doesn't affect your score. Others need a hard pull before they make a final offer. We'll tell you which before anything is pulled.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the product, your revenue, and your history. A merchant cash advance is usually priced with a factor rate, and you'll see the total payback amount before you sign. An advance costs more than a bank loan — we show you the numbers so you can decide if it's worth it.

What if sales slow down and I can't keep up?

With a merchant cash advance, repayment is usually a percentage of your sales, so payments often move with your revenue. Terms vary by funder, so read your contract for how adjustments work. If business slows, talk to the funder early — it's easier to work something out before a payment is missed. Loans and lines of credit have set payments.

Do I need collateral?

Most revenue-based options don't ask for specific collateral like property or equipment. Many do ask the owner for a personal guarantee. Real estate financing is secured by the property. We'll point out what each offer requires.

Are you the lender?

No. Fable Funding is a broker. We send your application to funding partners that fit your profile. They make the decision, set the terms, and provide the money.

What happens after I apply?

We review your application and documents and may call with questions. Then we send your file to funding partners that fit. When offers come back, we walk you through each one — amount, cost, and repayment. If one works, you sign with the funder and they fund it. If none fits, you walk away.
